Additive manufacturing

Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, is a complete different approach to manufacturing processes allowing to enable the creation of special shape to light and make stronger parts/ systems than those produced with the traditional subtractive manufacturing (CNC machines or similar ones) . Thanks to new technological developments, additive manufacturing is now widely applied not only to the prototyping and development process of special equipment, but also to small / medium production series.

In recent years, Valvar Engineering has started collaborations with AM printer developers in Europe and the United States and partnerships with 3D printing service companies. Thanks to the skills acquired, we can offer customers solutions suited to their needs, using Selective Laser Melting, Binder jetting and EDM processes for metals, and MJF and FFF for thermoplastics.

The products made by us with this technique are used as components of valves such as cages, seats and sealing rings for triple eccentric. We use metallic materials (Inconel 718, 316L, 304, Copper, 17-4-PH, etc ...), polymers and also hybrid materials (i.e. PEEK + carbon fibers, PEKK + FC, etc ...). Many other materials are under development and characterization (eg CrCoMb F75, Inconel 725). Additive manufacturing represents a unique solution in the field of product customization and rapid replacement of spare parts.
